Edwin van Dijk teaches professional ethics in the course Advocatuur en Beroepsethiek (Legal Practice and Professional Ethics) and is also a Fellow at the ACLPA (Amsterdam Centre on the Legal Professions and Access to Justice).

He studied law at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and obtained his PhD in 2023 from Radboud University Nijmegen with a dissertation on legal professional ethics. His research examined the concept of aspirational morality as articulated in the introduction to the Dutch Rules of Professional Conduct for lawyers. His academic interests focus on the philosophical and legal foundations of professional ethics for legal practitioners.

Van Dijk teaches ethics to lawyers and other professionals, including for NetLaw. He also serves as a guest lecturer at Radboud University Nijmegen, where he delivers lectures in the course Lawyer and Ethics. He has published in the Tijdschrift Tuchtrecht on the ethical significance of core professional values and contributed a book review of Cancelling Lawyers by Bradley Wendel to the Advocatenblad.

In addition to his academic work, Van Dijk practices as a lawyer specialising in construction and procurement law. In this field, he regularly teaches both industry professionals and legal practitioners, including for the Grotius Academy and the Institute for Construction Law. He publishes frequently on construction and procurement law, including in the Tijdschrift voor Bouwrecht (Journal of Construction Law).
