The ACLPA is very delighted to welcome Martin Hapla and Tomáš Sobek from the Faculty of Law at Masaryk University as visiting researchers during June 2026.

About the researchers 

Martin Hapla is an associate professor and Head of the Department of Legal Theory at the Faculty of Law, Masaryk University. His research focuses primarily on legal philosophy and ethics. He has published mainly on the justification of human rights and on philosophical issues in legal and judicial ethics (e.g. in the journals Legal Ethics and The Age of Human Rights Journal). He is also the lead author of the first Czech textbook on professional ethics for lawyers. 

Tomáš Sobek is an associate professor at the Faculty of Law, Masaryk University. His research focuses primarily on analytic legal philosophy, legal argumentation, and metaethics. He is the author of several monographs and articles published, among others, in the journals Law and Philosophy, Ratio Juris, and Rechtstheorie.
