Rosa Möhrlein is an Assistant Professor at the University of Amsterdam's Faculty of Law, as well as the Director of the Experiential Education Programme for the Master's programmes: Amsterdam Law Practice. She coordinates the Master's course Internship and lectures on legal ethics and behavioural legal ethics. She also coordinates and lectures the third-year course, Recht en Praktijk, in which students gain their first experience of legal practice through a mini-internship or simulation. Rosa is dedicated to improving and developing legal education based on academic insights into experiential legal education, and with a view to training our students to become the legal professionals of the future. To this end, she conducts her own research, in collaboration with colleagues from the Department of Educational Sciences, into the impact of educational reforms within the law programme at the University of Amsterdam.
Rosa obtained her PhD in 2024 on the subject of the judicial functions in international law. This PhD research stemmed from her role as a junior lecturer at Radboud University Nijmegen from 2012 to 2018 and a presentation she held at the International Court of Justice at the occasion of the Centenary of the Peace Palace in 2013. Her research interests lie in international dispute resolution, the role of the judge, and professional ethics (in international law).
Rosa is also confidential adviser for the UvA.
Since 2023, Rosa is the Managing Editor of the Netherlands International Law Review.
